Human Resources (HR) is the division of the OSPD responsible for managing employee compensation and benefits. Led by Veronica Sandoval Graves, the HR Department works to support our team in sustaining the critical work of public defenders. Her team is available to assist defenders with questions about their benefits, help them complete paperwork for FMLA status or workers’ compensation needs, and guide them in making decisions about health and other insurance.

The HR team also handles or supports the offices in:

• Finding, recruiting, screening, and onboarding job applicants
• Managing employee personnel files
• Supporting payroll processes
• Addressing employee concerns
